Gen Lekma – Plymouth Buddhist Centre

May 20th, 2009 § 2 comments

This is a portrait is I made of Gen Kelsang Lekma as part of a loose personal project I’ve been working on as and when I get the time. Gen Lekma is the current resident teacher at the Ashoka Kadampa Buddhist Meditation Centre in Plymouth, which I was surprised to find when arriving on location has a very nice vegetarian cafe on site. While I can’t speak for the centre’s meditation workshops I can certainly recommend their coffee; and where else can you get an espresso poured by a Buddhist monk?

That’s a lovely picture of Lekma Simon. I enjoyed your write up too.

There is now a new resident teacher called Ben Seel – so perhaps you could visit the centre again!
